NHS National Cancer Screening Programmes

Early detection is key in the battle against cancer.  

There is no UK national screening programme for Prostrate Cancer but men over 50 years can have a PSA test upon request from their GP.

Bowel Screening is currently offered to men and women aged 60-70 years. People over 74 years can request a screening kit by contacting the bowel screening programme at Tel: 0800 707 6060

Breast Screening programme is offered to women ages 50-70 years every three years.  Women over 70 years will need to ask their GP about screening as they will not be automatically invited.

Cervical Screening is offered to women aged 25-64 years. Women aged 25-49 years are invited every three years. After that women are invited every five years until age 64 years.
